Description
A parapet wall is only as good as what's protecting its top — leave it uncapped or badly capped and rainwater tracks straight down the brickwork, freeze-thaw cycles open up the pointing, and the membrane upstand behind it takes a battering it was never designed for. This aluminium coping caps the wall properly: a powder-coated aluminium profile with generous downstands on both faces, engineered to shed water clear of the wall and lock the membrane termination in behind it.
It's supplied in 3 metre lengths across five wall-width bands, so you can match the coping to the actual thickness of the wall it's capping rather than trimming an oversized profile on site. The 2mm 1050-grade aluminium sheet takes a five-step powder coating process for genuine long-term weather and corrosion resistance, and the range complies with BS EN 13501-1 fire classification — suited to domestic, commercial and industrial parapets alike.
Key benefits
- 2mm 1050-grade aluminium sheet, 70mm downstands on both faces
- Five-step powder coating process for long-term weather and corrosion resistance
- Complies with BS EN 13501-1 fire classification
- Five wall-width bands from 115mm to 420mm — no on-site trimming of an oversized profile
- Suits domestic, commercial and industrial parapet walls
Where it's used
Capping parapet walls on flat roofs — garages, extensions, garden rooms, commercial units and any upstand wall where the roof membrane needs a weathertight termination at the top. Works alongside any flat roofing system (EPDM, GRP or single-ply) as the finishing detail over the membrane upstand; it doesn't waterproof the wall itself, so the membrane behind it still needs to be dressed up and sealed correctly before the coping goes on.

Ordering & installation guidance
Measure the actual top width of your wall (including any render or brick-slip finish) and choose the band that covers it — the coping's downstands need enough length to sit flush against both wall faces without straining. Fixing brackets should be placed at up to 1.5m intervals with one at every joint, and joints allow a 3mm expansion gap sealed with a compatible silicone. Complete your roof edge detail with our GRP roof edge trim packs or GRP simulated lead flashing trim where the membrane meets a vertical wall away from the parapet run.
FAQ
Does this waterproof the wall itself?
No — the coping caps and protects the top of an already-built wall and locks the membrane's upstand termination in behind it. The membrane underneath still needs to be correctly dressed and sealed before the coping is fitted.
How do I know which width band I need?
Measure the actual top-of-wall width including any render, coping stone or brick-slip finish, then choose the band that covers that measurement.
What colours are available?
Textured Black and Anthracite Grey are available now; further RAL colours from this range are being added in a future update — get in touch if you need a specific RAL match.
How are joints and corners handled?
Lengths are joined with a 3mm expansion gap and sealed with a compatible silicone at fixing brackets placed up to 1.5m apart, with a bracket at every joint.
How is it delivered?
Despatched from UK stock as 3m lengths via courier — check the product page at checkout for the current delivery estimate to your postcode.
