2.5mm Self-Adhesive Reinforced EPDM Membrane
Partial Bond 3-in-1 Waterproofing System — Glass-Reinforced, Cold-Applied, Built to Last Decades
When it comes to flat roof waterproofing, very few systems can match the performance, longevity and ease of installation offered by this 2.5mm glass-reinforced self-adhesive EPDM membrane. Engineered as a complete 3-in-1 solution, it combines a high-performance EPDM rubber core, an integrated glass scrim reinforcement layer, and a factory-applied partial bond self-adhesive backing — all in a single, ready-to-install roll.
The partial bond configuration is a key engineering advantage. Unlike full-bond systems, the controlled adhesion pattern allows pressure to dissipate and equalise beneath the membrane, making it especially effective on substrates prone to movement, settlement, or residual moisture. This makes it the system of choice for both new build and refurbishment projects where substrate conditions may be less than perfect.
From residential extensions and dormer roofs to commercial buildings and modular structures, this membrane delivers a watertight, durable finish without the need for naked flames, hot works permits, or specialist adhesives — simply peel, position, and press.
Why This Membrane Outperforms Standard EPDM Systems
An internal glass fibre scrim inlay dramatically improves tensile strength, tear resistance, and dimensional stability compared to unreinforced membranes. The result is a membrane that holds its shape under thermal cycling and mechanical stress without any shrinkage throughout its entire service life.
The partially coated self-adhesive underside allows trapped air and moisture vapour to dissipate rather than blister beneath the membrane. This is a critical advantage on refurbishment projects, damp substrates, and large roof areas where a full-bond system could trap moisture and fail prematurely.
EPDM rubber retains its elasticity at extreme low temperatures, meaning this membrane will never become brittle, crack, or shatter in even the harshest UK winters. Unlike felt or bitumen alternatives, there is no shattering effect — the membrane stays flexible and watertight year after year.
The adhesion-enabling top surface allows sheet-to-sheet overlaps to be heat-welded, creating monolithic, watertight seams with no reliance on seam tape alone. This is an industry-leading feature that sets reinforced EPDM apart from standard single-ply membranes.
This membrane carries CE certification to ETA-06/0174 and DIN EN13967, and holds a British Board of Agrément (BBA) Certificate No. 06/4329. These independent certifications confirm a life expectancy measured in decades and provide the documentation evidence required by building warranties and structural guarantees.
Full Feature Overview
Completely unaffected by freeze-thaw cycles or biological degradation throughout its service life.
No additional surface protection required. Resists degradation from solar radiation, atmospheric ozone and infrared exposure without coatings or topcoats.
Will not support moss, algae or microbial growth that commonly degrades traditional roofing materials over time.
Environmentally responsible formulation. Contains no plasticisers that leach and cause stiffening over time — the membrane stays elastic for its entire lifespan.
Can be installed directly over existing bituminous coverings in refurbishment projects — no costly or disruptive strip-back required in many cases.
The textured top surface provides excellent grip underfoot even in wet conditions, and the membrane withstands routine foot traffic for maintenance access.
Glass-scrim reinforcement eliminates the membrane shrinkage that plagues unreinforced rubber systems, preventing detachment at upstands and perimeter edges.
One roll does the work of multiple layers — no underlay, no primer in most applications, no separate adhesive. Fewer materials mean a faster, cleaner installation.
Resistant to a wide range of environmental chemicals and atmospheric emissions — ideal for installations in urban, industrial or coastal environments.
An environmentally responsible choice. Unlike felt-based systems, this EPDM membrane is fully recyclable at end of life, reducing construction waste.
Ideal Applications
This membrane is suitable for virtually any flat or low-pitch roofing application, including new build and full refurbishment. Its partial bond design makes it especially suited to overlaying existing coverings, damp substrates, and large areas prone to thermal movement.

Installation Guide — Cold Applied, No Hot Works
One of the most practical advantages of this system is how straightforward it is to install. No hot works permit is needed, no separate bonding adhesive to mix or apply, and no specialist equipment beyond a hand roller and a heat gun for weld seams.
Step 1 — Substrate Preparation: Ensure the deck is clean, dry, smooth and structurally sound. Remove any sharp protrusions, loose material, or contaminants. For best results on timber decks, a primer may be recommended.
Step 2 — Position and Align: Unroll the membrane across the roof surface in its final position before committing. Allow sufficient overlap at edges and upstands. The release film keeps the adhesive protected while you position.
Step 3 — Peel and Bond: Gradually peel back the release film and press the membrane firmly onto the substrate using a hand roller. Work methodically from one end to eliminate air pockets and achieve uniform adhesion.
Step 4 — Seal Overlaps: Where sheets overlap or meet at upstands, use a heat gun to weld seams for a fully watertight, monolithic finish — a key performance advantage unique to reinforced heat-weldable EPDM systems.
