Description
Felt on a roll does the job on a shed roof, but it reads exactly like what it is — a functional membrane, not a finish. Strip shingles give the same reliable bitumen waterproofing with the textured, dimensional look of a "proper" roof, which is why they've become the default choice for summerhouses, garden rooms and outbuildings people actually want to look at.
Each shingle is a glass-fibre base coated in oxidised bitumen and finished with coloured mineral granules, supplied in strips of three and self-adhesive underneath for a straightforward nail-and-bond fix over a suitable deck or existing felt.

Suitable applications
Shed, summerhouse, garden room, playhouse and outbuilding roofs; small pitched roof extensions; re-covering an existing felt roof that has reached the end of its life. Suitable for roofs with sufficient pitch for water to shed (check the minimum pitch guidance for strip shingles before ordering for a very low-pitch roof — below around 10° a fully bonded membrane is usually the better choice).

Installation guidance
Fit over a sound timber deck (typically OSB or plywood) with an underlay if your roof build-up calls for one, starting with a starter course at the eaves and working upward so each course laps over the one below. Nail through the designated nailing line and bond the self-adhesive strip on the course above down onto it. FAQs
What roof pitch do I need?
Strip shingles need enough pitch for water to run off between courses — as a general guide this means a minimum pitch of around 10-15°, though always check the specific product's minimum pitch before ordering for a borderline roof.
How many packs do I need?
Measure your roof area in m² and order enough packs to cover it, adding roughly 10% for waste at cuts, ridges and hips. Each pack covers 3m².
Can I fit these over old felt?
Only if the existing deck and felt are sound and flat — if the old felt is blistered, rotten or the deck beneath is damaged, strip it back to a sound deck first.
Are Red and Green available?
Yes, from the same range — we've launched with Black and Grey as our stocked colours, but Red and Green can be added to your order on request.
Will the colour granules wash off over time?
A small amount of loose granule shedding in the first few weeks after installation is normal and expected; heavy ongoing loss suggests a manufacturing or storage issue and should be reported to your supplier.

Choose the bundle size closest to your roof area (rounding up), and select your colour. Larger roofs can combine multiple bundles of the same colour to reach the exact coverage needed.
