Metal Roofing Sheets

Box profile and profiled steel roofing sheets, cut to length for sheds, garages, carports and agricultural buildings. Sheets are quick to fit, span well between purlins, and shed water fast — which makes them a practical covering for outbuildings where appearance matters less than getting a durable roof on quickly.

Pitch and laps

Profiled sheet needs a fall to work. Too shallow a pitch and water can creep back up the side laps, particularly in driving rain, so check the minimum pitch for the profile you are using before you set the purlins. Side laps should face away from the prevailing wind, and end laps need to be generous enough that water cannot track back under them.

Fixings and condensation

Fix through the crown or the trough according to the profile, and use washered fixings so each penetration is sealed. On an unventilated building, condensation on the underside of a metal sheet is common in cold weather — an anti-condensation backing or a ventilated build-up avoids drips onto whatever is stored below.
