Description
Trade roofers rarely need another roller and brush set turning up with every material order — most already have their own kit, and paying for tools they don't need on every job adds up fast. This is the materials-only version of our fire-rated GRP system: 600g chopped-strand-mat matting with a BROOF(t4)-rated resin and topcoat, sized right up to 100m² for genuinely commercial-scale flat roofs, with no tools bundled in.
The 600g matting is a heavier-duty laminate than our standard 450g kits — more glass content per square metre for extra impact and puncture resistance, which is why this line is the one most often specified for commercial units, larger trade jobs and roofs that will see harder wear. Like all our GRP systems it cures to one continuous, seamless, walkable surface with no joints or seams, and the fire-rated resin and topcoat formulation means there's no separate fire-retardant layer to source.
Key benefits
- Fire-rated to BROOF(t4) — resin and topcoat carry the classification, not an add-on layer
- 600g chopped strand matting — heavier-duty than our standard 450g system, built for commercial wear
- Materials only — no bundled tools, so trade buyers with their own kit aren't paying for duplicates
- 14 sizes from 10m² right up to 100m², genuinely commercial scale
- One seamless, jointless membrane — no joints, no seams to fail
- UV-stable, suitable for summer and winter installation
Where it's used
Commercial and larger trade flat roofs — warehouse units, retail and light-industrial roofs, large domestic extensions and garages, and any job where a professional installer is supplying their own tools. If you need tools included, our Fire-Rated GRP Kit with Tools (450g, 5–30m²) or 300g Fire-Rated GRP Kit (12–66m², for smaller domestic structures) cover the same fire rating with everything in the box, and our standard 450g GRP Kit with Tools covers non-fire-rated jobs up to 30m².

Ordering & installation guidance
Measure your total roof area and order the size at or above it — GRP is laid as one continuous laminate, so size up rather than down if you're between two sizes. Deck should be sound, dry timber, OSB3 or plywood, minimum 18mm. You'll need your own laminating rollers, brushes and mixing buckets for this materials-only line — if you don't already have a kit, choose our fire-rated kit with tools included instead (up to 30m²). Finish the perimeter with our GRP roof edge trim packs or GRP simulated lead flashing trim, and protect high-traffic areas with our EPDM walkway pads.
FAQ
Why doesn't this kit include tools?
It's aimed at trade installers and repeat buyers who already own laminating rollers, brushes and mixing buckets — leaving tools out keeps the price down for anyone who doesn't need another set. First-time buyers should choose our fire-rated kit with tools included instead.
What's the difference between the 450g and 600g systems?
600g matting carries more glass fibre content per square metre than our standard 450g system, giving extra impact and puncture resistance — it's the specification most often used for commercial roofs and higher-traffic applications. Both cure to the same fire-rated, seamless finish.
Can I order above 100m²?
This range covers up to 100m² per kit; for larger commercial roofs, order multiple kits sized to suit the roof's natural laminating sections, or contact us for guidance on splitting a large area.
Do I need building control sign-off for a fire-rated roof?
Fire rating requirements depend on your roof's proximity to boundaries and its use class under Building Regulations Approved Document B — check with your building control surveyor if you're unsure whether your project needs it.
How is it delivered?
As a multi-box kit on a pallet or courier service depending on size; resins are date-sensitive, so order close to your planned installation date and store cool until use.
