Description
Mortar-bedded verges crack, drop tiles and let wind-driven rain track back under the roof covering within a handful of winters — which is exactly why BS 5534 now expects a mechanical fixing at the verge on most re-roofs and new builds. This kit clips each tile course to a UV-stable PVC-U verge unit instead, giving a permanently ventilated, weathertight gable edge that never needs re-pointing.
Each unit locks over the tile edge and interlocks with the next, so a finished verge line stays straight and secure even in exposed, high-wind locations. Because the system is dry-fixed, it also opens a continuous ventilation path along the roof edge — helping timber and battens dry out rather than trap moisture the way a solid mortar fillet does.

Ordering guidance
Measure each verge run and order enough packs to cover the total length, then split evenly between Left Hand and Right Hand units as the courses alternate. Do I need Left Hand or Right Hand units? This is a handed system — units alternate L/R along the verge to interlock correctly, so order both in equal numbers for a full run.
What's the difference between this and a dry ridge kit? A dry ridge kit dry-fixes the horizontal ridge at the top of the roof; this kit dry-fixes the sloping verge edges at the gable end. Most roofs need both.
Will it fit my tile profile? It's designed for standard profiled interlocking concrete and clay tiles. If you have a flat/plain tile roof, check your tile profile before ordering, as verge systems are profile-specific.
Is it BS 5534 compliant? Mechanically fixing the verge in this way is the recognised method for meeting the wind-uplift and weathertightness intent of BS 5534 — always confirm the specific requirement with your roofer or building control for your location and exposure zone.
How many packs do I need? Divide your total verge length (both gable edges) by roughly 6m per pack, then round up.
