Description

Finlock and concrete box gutters were built into the eaves of most UK homes from the 1950s to the 1970s. The gutter is cast in sections, and the joints between those sections are the usual point of failure: the grout or seal at each joint breaks down over time and the gutter starts to leak.

This kit relines the full length of an existing Finlock or concrete gutter run in one continuous, fully bonded EPDM rubber membrane, so there is no joint left in the gutter for water to find. It is supplied as a whole-house bundle rather than a bare roll, sized to the typical run length for a mid-terrace, semi-detached or detached property.

Specification

Reused from our EPDM Gutter Lining Kit listing, supplied here as a pre-configured whole-house bundle rather than sold by the roll:

  • 2.5mm heavy-duty self-adhesive EPDM rubber membrane
  • Substrate primer included, for bonding to concrete, metal or timber gutters
  • Flexible from -40°C to +120°C, minimum 300% elongation
  • Class E fire rated
  • Fitted as a fully bonded membrane onto a primed, prepared substrate, with overlaps consolidated using a seam roller
  • Minimum application temperature 5°C

Bundle sizes

  • Mid-Terrace – approx. 10-12m of gutter run
  • Semi-Detached – approx. 18-22m of gutter run
  • Detached – approx. 25-30m of gutter run

These are typical lengths for each house type. Measure your own gutter run before ordering - if your property falls outside these bundle sizes, contact us for a bespoke length.

What's included

Membrane cut to the bundle length, plus the primer needed to prepare the gutter before bonding.

What else the job needs

Basic tools to clean and prepare the gutter (wire brush, cloth), a seam roller to consolidate overlaps, and separate outlet or stop-end components if your existing fittings need replacing rather than reusing.

What it replaces

A full Finlock or concrete gutter removal and replacement with a new fascia-mounted system. Relining leaves the existing concrete gutter and roof tiles in place and addresses leaking joints without that structural work.
