Description

A fragile rooflight, an ageing sheeted roof or an open rafter bay doesn't announce itself before someone puts a foot through it. Fall-through debris netting is the passive backstop that catches a person or falling material before it becomes a fatality statistic — rigged beneath the working area rather than worn or fixed to the edge, so it's doing its job even when nobody is clipped on.

This is certified fall-arrest netting to BS EN 1263-1, not the lightweight debris/wind netting sold for wrapping scaffolding — a genuine safety-rated product with a supplied Certificate of Conformity, sized to span the actual roof or working area rather than a single opening.

Ordering & installation guidance

Size the net to fully span the hazard area with adequate perimeter overlap and secure fall clearance beneath — this should always be specified by a competent person against the actual roof structure, not estimated from floor area alone. Debris netting is a passive backstop and works alongside, not instead of, active protection: pair it with our Roof Fall-Arrest Anchor & Horizontal Lifeline System for personal fall arrest and our Freestanding Roof Edge Protection Guardrail Kit for perimeter protection. Fixing hardware (NetClaw hooks, tie ropes) is available separately from a safety equipment supplier — get in touch if you need a recommendation.

FAQ

Is this the same as scaffold debris netting? No. Standard scaffold/wind netting is a lightweight mesh for containing dust and debris on the outside of scaffolding — it is not rated to catch a falling person. This product is certified fall-arrest netting to BS EN 1263-1.

What size do I need? Measure the full hazard area (e.g. the roof void or fragile-sheeting bay) plus enough overlap onto solid structure either side to anchor the net securely — a competent person or your site safety supervisor should confirm the exact size and fall clearance for your job.

Does it come with fixings? The net itself is supplied with border rope for tying off; hooks and tie ropes for fixing to the structure are sold separately.

Can this replace edge protection guardrails? No — debris netting protects against falling through the roof plane, guardrails protect against falling off the roof edge. Most jobs need both.

How is it stored and maintained? Store dry and out of UV exposure between uses, and inspect for damage before every re-use per your safety equipment inspection regime.
