Description

uPVC fascia and soffit is the default because it's cheap and every trade merchant stocks it off the shelf — but it chalks, yellows and can look flimsy within a decade, which is exactly why architects and self-builders increasingly specify aluminium instead on anything with real kerb appeal. This is a powder-coated aluminium roofline system in the same premium tier as our aluminium guttering and downpipe range: a genuinely rigid board that won't warp, fade or need replacing on the same cycle as plastic.

  • Three fascia profiles — L Return, V Return and U Return — to suit different roofline details
  • Matching soffit board, 180mm width, plain/flat pattern
  • Full component range: joint covers, 90° external angles and gable box ends
  • Powder-coated aluminium, 3m lengths
  • Same premium roofline tier as our aluminium guttering and downpipe systems — specify a fully matched aluminium roofline

Frequently asked questions

Which fascia profile should I choose? L Return is the simplest, flattest profile and suits most standard rooflines. V Return adds a 45° detail line that reads as a slightly more traditional finish. U Return has the deepest return and is often chosen to match an existing timber fascia's proportions — check what your current board looks like in section before ordering.

Do I need a joint cover on every joint? Yes — aluminium fascia boards butt-join with a cover piece over each joint, both for weatherproofing and to hide the join. Order one joint cover per board-to-board joint in your run.

What's a gable box end for? It closes off the open end of the fascia/soffit box at a gable verge, giving a finished, boxed-in appearance rather than an open end grain.

Does the soffit need its own fixing system? Soffit board fits into the fascia's soffit return channel at one edge and is typically supported on a soffit bearer or batten at the wall side — check your specific roofline detail before ordering fixings separately.

How does this compare to uPVC? Higher upfront cost, but aluminium doesn't chalk, yellow or become brittle in UV the way uPVC does over 10–15 years, and the powder-coat finish holds a sharper, flatter line — the reason it's the material of choice on architect-specified new builds and premium refurbishments.

Finishing a full aluminium roofline? Pair this with our aluminium half round gutter system or aluminium box gutter system and matching aluminium downpipe system for a fully coordinated roofline in the same finish.
