A plain-tiled roof is only finished once the ridge is capped, and a handmade half-round ridge tile is what keeps that traditional look consistent all the way to the apex. Made the same way as our handmade clay plain roof tiles – individually pressed and fired rather than extruded – each ridge tile carries the same natural variation in tone and texture that gives a re-roof or extension its settled, non-uniform character.
This is the standard 300mm half-round profile used to cap the ridge line on a pitched roof finished in plain tiles, sold in bulk packs sized for a real ridge run rather than as a single unit.

Measure your total ridge length and allow one ridge tile per approximately 260–280mm of run once overlap is accounted for, plus a margin for cuts at hips and abutments – check the exact lap with your roofer or tile setting-out guide before ordering. Yes, half-round ridge tiles of this type can be mechanically fixed using a compatible dry ridge system rather than traditional mortar bedding – confirm compatibility with your chosen dry-fix system before ordering.
Will this match my existing handmade plain tile roof?
The Red Antique colourway is designed to complement warm red and antique-toned plain tile roofs, but as with any handmade clay product we'd recommend requesting a sample against your existing roof before a large order.
Why is only one colourway currently available?
This ridge tile is produced in several colourways, but we currently hold verified, colour-accurate photography for Red Antique only. Further colourways will be added as photography is completed – contact us if you need a specific shade and we can advise on availability.
What pack size do I need for a small hip roof?
For most single hip or short ridge runs on a domestic extension, a pack of 10–25 is typically sufficient; for a full main roof ridge, the pack of 50 is usually the better-value option. Always confirm exact quantities against your measured ridge length.
