Ordering & installation guidance
Confirm your roof area and gauge with your roofer before ordering, then add roughly 5–10% for cuts, verges, hips and breakages. FAQs
Will every tile in a pack look identical?
No – and that is intentional. As a genuinely handmade product, tiles vary slightly in shade, thickness and surface texture from piece to piece. This is normal and expected with handmade clay, not a defect.
Can I mix colourways on one roof?
Some of the darker and lighter colourways in this range blend well together for a reclaimed look, but we'd recommend ordering a small sample pack first if you plan to mix, since batches can vary between production runs.
What roof pitch is this tile suitable for?
Plain tiles of this format are generally suitable from around 35° pitch upward; always check with your roofer or building control for the specific pitch and exposure zone of your project.
Do I need special battens or fixings?
Standard treated timber tiling battens and clout nails (or nibbed hanging, depending on the batten gauge) are used – these are sold separately and should be specified to BS 5534.
How much wastage should I allow?
We'd suggest 5–10% over your calculated area to cover cutting at verges, hips, valleys and abutments, plus breakages during handling and fixing.
